Etsy fees explained
How much does Etsy take per sale?
For a US shop: a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, and payment processing of 3% + $0.25 on the order total. That is usually 10-12% of the order. A sale from Offsite Ads adds 15% (12% for shops over $10k a year), capped at $100 per order.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee and payment processing are both charged on the shipping you charge the buyer, not only on the item price.
Is sales tax included?
No. Sales tax or VAT that Etsy collects from buyers is passed to the tax authority and is not your income, so this calculator leaves it out.
